Creep 2 Official Trailer and Release Date
The hotly awaited sequel to Mark Duplass' cult hit Creep will hit all digital platforms on October 24, 2017 and now we have our first trailer to set the mood.
The movie is a sequel to 2014’s Creep in which Mark Duplass played a sinister character called Josef who hires a videographer,Aaron, portrayed by that film’s real-life director, Patrick Brice. After he answers an online ad he drives to a Josef's house to film him for the day, because he wants to make a movie for his unborn child. But his requests become more bizarre as the day progresses.
Creep 2 stars Desiree Akhavan as Sara, a video artist whose primary focus is creating intimacy with lonely men. After finding an ad online for “video work” she thinks she may have found the subject of her dreams. She drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man (Duplass) claiming to be a serial killer. Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him, but discovers she may have dug herself a hole from which she cannot escape.
Real Life Horror: Russian Cannibal Couple
Russian police have discovered one of the country's most grisly cases of cannibalism after pictures of dismembered bodies were found on a phone belonging to one of the main suspects.
The crimes were uncovered when a cell phone, which included images of the man posing with a dismembered female victim, was found on a street in Krasnodar earlier this month. The remains of the woman were found in a bag nearby the following day.
Dmitry Baksheev, 35, from Krasnodar in southern Russia was identified as having told interrogators he began his macabre reign of terror in 1999. He and his wife Natalia, 42, a nurse, were part of a 'cannibal family', which is known to have links to Russian law enforcement.Baksheev and his spouse stored human remains in their fridge and freezer as well as a cellar; along with seven packs of frozen body parts. The couple also apparently preserved some 'meat' in jars, with one image showing what is alleged to be human remains pickled in a jar.
One picture shows a human head on a plate surrounded by oranges. It is dated 28 December 1999 - which, if valid, leads to the suspicion that the confession of an 18-year reign of terror as a cannibal is correct.Dmitry and Natalia useda combination of ether and a Russian drug Corvalol (main substance is Phenobarbital) to make their victims sleep.

Kroc soon maneuvers himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a multi-billion dollar empire.
Leatherface Is a Awesome Blood-soaked Prequel [Review]
Someone somewhere screwed up the marketing for Leatherface and they need to be fired. The trailers were lackluster and the synopsis sounds boring, which automatically set the stage for negative reviews. But if you ignore everything you heard you will be delighted by a movie that sets the stage for one of the silver-screen's favorite killers; Leatherface.
Leatherface takes place before the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and it delves into more than just the man-with-the-saw's backstory. It shines a spotlight on each member of the Sawyer clan before they became the fine tuned family that kills.
The setup is simple; the Sawyers are disliked by all and the local law enforcement wants them gone, but can't manage to make a case against them. However, when the local sheriff's daughter is found dead, he rounds up all the young Sawyers under the guise of child endangerment and places them in a institution. After 10 years of being separated, Verna (Lili Taylor) marries into money and attempts to use her wealth to find and release her son Jeb. When her plan doesn't succeed she improvises and creates a mass riot resulting in the escape of her son and three others.
The script was penned by Seth M. Sherwood who does an amazing job of setting the stage of what will become the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the icon Leatherface. With many foreshadowing events of the future and a few homages to the more crazy installments, Sherwood created a prequel that fits tonally with the rest of the series.
Casting for this installment couldn't have been better. With heavyweights like Stephen Dorff and Lili Taylor taking up roles it gives the picture a deserving sense of legitimacy. Yet it one of the younger stars that steal the show; Jessica Madsen gives a performance that is outstanding, no it's more than that, it can only be described as perfectly flawless and to say anymore would ruin the movie.
The gore here is plenty and it really stands out as the most blood-soaked entry in the series to date. From the kills to the practical FX many a fans of the series should be happy with how visceral the movie is. And what will really standout is not a kill but a twisted sex scene that involves a long dead corpse (I've said too much). Also the attention to detail for the Sawyer house is fantastic, they nailed even the most minute detail in reproducing the house.
Leatherface is more than just a slasher origin story, it's a ride that shows you how a person can become so broken and stripped away that they see no option but to turn to the saw. And after all the Saw Is Family.

Trick 'r Treat 2 Happening After Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Michael Dougherty has been a busy man. He wrote and directed Krampus, then got tapped to write Godzilla: King of the Monsters and then while writing earned the job of directing said Godzilla movie. But that doesn't mean he has forgotten about Sam and his sequel to Trick 'r Treat.
When Dougherty talked to IGN about Krampus the conversation swerved to the, inevitable Trick 'r Treat sequel talk and Dougherty explained that it is coming... Just not anytime soon.
"It's going to happen, the tricky thing is that as we were announcing Trick 'r Treat 2, I was just finishing the screenplay for Krampus with my co-writers and it was just too tempting to not do Krampus. If we didn't do it, somebody else was going to."
He then went on to explain that just because Krampus took priority that Trick 'r Treat 2 hadn't been sitting stagnant. He said he wanted to get the story right and not rush anything. But what Dougherty didn't know at the time was that he would soon be writing the script for Godzilla 2.
Trick 'r Treat 2 was set to happen after Krampus but just months after the movie's release Dougherty was tapped to write Godzilla which, of course, meant TrT2 had to take a backseat. Then after a few months of talk it was announced that he would also direct his script for Godzilla 2 and that means pushing TrT2 back even farther.
Now it might look like TrT2 is stuck in limbo but that is not the case. Legendary and Warner Bros. have a great working relationship going on. 32 of the films Legendary produced have been released by WB which include Trick 'r Treat, Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island and the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Both companies stand firmly behind Dougherty and fully support his follow-up to Trick 'r Treat. Neither have any intentions of letting the sequel die, he just has to finish Godzilla 2 first.
While doing an interview on the podacst Post Mortem (via Dread Central), Dougherty revealed that he will start working on it when he's finished with Godzilla: King of the Monsters:
“My hope is that once Godzilla has been put to rest that I can dive back into [Trick ‘r Treat 2]…I would love to finish writing it in post-production [of Godzilla] and then I’d love to make it my next project.”
If all goes smoothly Godzilla: King of the Monster will be released March 22, 2019 and then Trick 'r Treat 2 will, most likely, go into production late 2019 or early 2020.
Terminator 6 Happening With Linda Hamilton
Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are both returning for the sixth Terminator film. James Cameron, who made the first two films, is producing, with Tim Miller (Deadpool) directing.
The Hollywood Reporter held an event in Los Angeles Tuesday night where the news was revealed.
With Hamilton’s return, Cameron hopes to once again make a statement on gender roles in action movies.
"There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys,” he said, referring to aging male actors still anchoring movies, “but there isn’t an example of that for women.”
Tim Miller, the filmmaker who made his breakout feature debut with Deadpool, is directing the sequel, which is returning to its roots by having the involvement of Cameron for the first time since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Cameron is producing along with Skydance. And the new film, which will be distributed by Paramount with Fox handling it internationally, is based on a story crafted by Cameron. Cameron and Miller created a writers room to hammer out what is planned to be a trilogy that can stand as single movies or form an overarching story. David Goyer, whose credits include the Blade and Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies; Charles Eglee, who created Dark Angel with Cameron; Josh Friedman, who created the Terminator TV spinoff, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Justin Rhodes, a frequent Goyer collaborator, were part of that room.
“We’re starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story,” Cameron said. “We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it.”
The new film, which does not yet have a release date, is being crafted as part of a trilogy “that can stand as single movies or form an overarching story.” It’s also being viewed as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day, ignoring the three sequels that followed.

Netflix Pick of the Week: American Vandal
True-crime series are gaining popularity on TV so, of course, there was bound to be a satire of the genre. "American Vandal" takes a look at the aftermath of a high school prank that left 27 faculty members' cars vandalized. But instead of the typical smashing of windows, the perpetrator drew obscene images on the vehicles. When troubled senior Dylan Maxwell is expelled for the crime, an aspiring sophomore documentarian takes it upon himself to investigate the controversial, potentially unjust penalty handed down to Maxwell. In the style of the genre it lampoons, the series leaves viewers wondering who committed the vandalism until the very end.

New Line Cinema Bringing Jason Back in 2020
It looks like WB/ New Line made out like bandits in their deal with Paramount Pictures that saw them offered up the rights to Friday The 13th and, in turn, receive a chunk of the movie Interstellar. See, Paramount was unable to execute a Friday the 13th film in the allotted time (five years), which means that come 2018 the rights go back to WB/New Line and the wheels are already in motion for when Jason returns.
The reason that Paramount got cold feet on a new Friday the 13th was because of the poor box office returns for Rings. The studio assumed that horror was no longer a safe bet and didn't feel comfortable losing 20 million on a Friday the 13th movie. However, over at WB/New Line the opposite is ringing true for them, with IT breaking horror records they are ready to jump back in the horror lake head first.
It appears the plan, as of now, is to continue on with IT: Chapter 2 then once the rights revert back they will fast-track an original Friday The 13th film and shoot for November 13, 2020 to hit the 40th anniversary mark.
As of this time it is unknown if Platinum Dunes will have any involvement in the upcoming film, but it's looking like they nor Paramount will have anything to do with the project.
We will have more over the coming months and years as the film materializes, but for now lets just enjoy the fact that Jason will be back in the hands of a studio that appreciates him.
IT and the Missing Freddy Krueger Scene
IT is now the highest grossing horror movie of all time and it couldn't be more deserving. The film manages to find a perfect balance of original horror while hitting the tone that Stephen King set in the book all those years ago. Adapting King's work to the screen is not an easy task, but Andy Muschietti has done what very few are capable of and it is paying off in spades. Yet one thing felt missing in the film and it's odd because all the signs were there. IT was supposed to take the form of Freddy Krueger.
In the book Richie Tozier has a fear of the werewolf from I Was A Teenage Werewolf after he saw the film at the Aladdin Theater. IT takes this form at the house on Niebolt Street and attacks Richie while wearing a varsity jacket with Richie's name embroidered on the chest. The 1990 miniseries does a small adaptation of this by having IT become the werewolf while Richie is in the basement of the school looking for a mop. The backstory of the Richie seeing the movie stays mostly intact.
This current adaptation, however, has been updated and set in 1989 and along with the setting all references to the time had to change as well. Also I must note the company that produced this is New Line Cinema (WB), the house that Freddy built, which right there sets the stage for Richie's fear. Add to that in the film the theater is playing Nightmare 5: The Dream Child and we can see where this is heading. We even see Richie hanging out at the theater playing in the arcade, which one would assume is after he saw the movie.
With all that build up a Freddy cameo seems like a no brainer once we hit the Niebolt house, yet it never happens and Richie reveals he has a generic fear of clowns. Actually the reveal of his clown fear and the scene with all the clowns seems really disjointed from the rest of the picture, which raises the question of why no Freddy?
The only conclusion that I can come up with is that this is one of those things that looks really cool on paper, but didn't play that well once conceived. Because for it to work properly they would have had to bring in Robert Englund to play Freddy for only 30 seconds of screen time and the tone would have shifted from awesome IT movie to cool IT movie with an awesome Freddy cameo. Since I doubt anyone wanted to overshadow the entire film with one cameo they scrapped it and just came up with the generic fill in.
Could a Freddy Krueger scene have worked in the film? I'm not sure and unless it was actually shot before it was scrapped, then we'll probably never know.
Netflix Pick of the Week: White Gold
White Gold, the new comedy from Inbetweeners co-creator Damon Beesley, which follows the triumphs and balls-ups of a trio of window salesmen as they try to shimmy up the greasy pole to success. Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick is Vincent Swan, a smarmy family man (who continually cheats on his wife) with the nous to play the lucrative double-glazing game for massive profit. Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas reprise their aimless banter as Fitzpatrick and Lavender: the former a grownup version of Jay – idiotic, crude and a chronic liar – while Lavender is the everyman thrown into this slightly hellish workplace.
