Jack Quaid Talks Scream 5 on Stir Crazy [Video]

scream 5 interview jack quaid

The Boys star Jack Quaid sat down with Josh Horowitz for a new episode of Stir Crazy and talked about the upcoming Scream 5.

In Scream 5 Jack Quaid will appear alongside franchise favorites Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox. Quaid was recently interviewed about his encounter with Ghostface, and was careful to keep its secrets under wraps.

Not much is known about Jack Quaid's role in the film, but he did confirm that he had to work on his 'scream', pun intended, for the role.

The new Scream film will be the horror franchise's first entry to hit theaters since 2011. It also has the distinction of being the first installment since Wes Craven's death.

Ready or Not filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are behind the camera this time. They are massive fans of Wes Craven's work, particularly on the original Scream movie. Their reverence for the horror legend is what ultimately convinced Neve Campbell to return to her role as Sidney Prescott.

Scream 5 is currently set to arrive in theaters on January 14th, 2022.

Amazon Must Watch: Upload

amazon series upload

In the near future, people who are near death can be 'uploaded' into virtual reality environments. Cash-strapped Nora works customer service for the luxurious 'Lakeview' digital afterlife. When party-boy/coder Nathan's car crashes, his girlfriend uploads him into Nora's VR world

Series creator Greg Daniels—best known for his work on The Office, Parks and Recreation, and King of the Hill—purportedly came up with the concept many years ago while working as a staff writer on Saturday Night Live, although Amazon didn't green-light the pilot until 2017, ordering a full ten-episode series the following year.

Robbie Amell (Code 8) plays Nathan, who is on the verge of closing a huge business deal with his friend and business partner, Jamie (Jordan Johnson-Hinds, Blindspot). But then his self-driving car malfunctions and crashes, landing Nathan on a hospital gurney, in critical condition. His wealthy girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards, Briarpatch) urges him to take the "upload" option over surgery. "We could be together forever!" she enthuses. Nathan is less keen: "Forever is just soooo long." But he ends up taking the upload anyway and wakes up in a virtual apartment. "This is the first day of the rest of your afterlife," Nora (Andy Allo, Chicago Fire) calmly assures him.

There are myriad advantages to a digital afterlife, Nathan discovers, like being able to change the weather and associated landscape outside one's window just by turning a knob. He feels freer to make some daring virtual fashion choices, with Ingrid's input. He even manages to make a couple of unlikely friends: Dylan (Rhys Slack, Legends of Tomorrow), who died when he was on the verge of puberty and whose family refuses to upgrade his avatar to an adult body; and Luke (Kevin Bigley, Sirens), a veteran who is having some trouble adjusting to his digital afterlife.

Amazon Prime: Fighting With My Family

wwe paige wrestling movie

This is a semi-biographical movie about the WWE career of professional wrestler Paige. It is based upon a documentary by the same name about Paige and her family of professional wrestlers in England.

Raya, WWE's Paige, grew up with her older brother Zak (Jack Lowden, “Dunkirk”) in a wrestling family including their parents Ricky (Nick Frost, “Attack the Block”) and Lena Headey (TV’s “Game of Thrones”). The family owns a local British wrestling organization whose main attraction is the 4 family members going against each other in various combinations.

The siblings have an opportunity to try out for the WWE’s minor league affiliate NXT. A former wrestler, Hutch (Vince Vaughn) is the training and marketing drill sergeant. Alas poor Zak doesn’t make the cut and is sent home. Raya on the other hand gets to the next level in Orlando. During training Hutch carries around a horn encouraging the trainees to honk it in order to quit and go home. Reminds me of the bell Navy SEAL trainees ring when they’ve had enough.

It is clear that among the women Raya is the better wrestler. The other women are former models and cheerleaders who clearly have the stature and glamour more befitting those skills than wrestling. They are tall and fit. Raya isn’t either. But while she may never be tall, she can become more fit. There remains great conflict between Raya and Zak although it hasn’t reached the surface. Zak has always dreamed of a real WWE career. He’s disappointed not only in himself but that Raya made the cut but doesn’t have the same commitment he does.

Mars Attacks: Uprising Sick New Trading Cards Set

ars attacks horror movie cards scifi

Before the over-the-top mayhem and dark humor of Amazon's The Boys, before the post-apocalyptic nightmare of The Walking Dead, before the sprawling space adventure of Avengers: Endgame, there was MARS ATTACKS! The original pulp sci-fi card set, released by Topps in 1962, influenced them all.

Now nearly six decades later, The Topps Company has licensed Mars Attacks to SideKick Lab, who will develop, produce, and publish a new series of Mars Attacks trading cards, which is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. This campaign was fully funded in just over an hour!

"SideKick was a critically important partner behind Topps' earlier Kickstarter-funded Mars Attacks: Occupation, which was beloved by fans, and we are pleased to have them return to the series," says Topps’ VP of Global Licensing Ira Friedman. "SideKick makes products Mars Attacks fans want and we are happy to work with them to produce new content and carry forward the brand’s indelible legacy."

The new set, Mars Attacks: Uprising, is a followup to the 2015 series Mars Attacks: Occupation, which funded on Kickstarter with a total of over $250,000 raised between the campaign and the followup survey to backers.

Uprising will include all new art by illustrators Ed Repka, William Skaar, Carlos Valenzuela, Paolo Parente, and other amazing talent. It will continue the story of an army from Mars that has invaded and enslaved the Earth, and show humanity’s struggle to rise up to defeat their alien overlords! The set will feature all-new story cards, unique chase cards including a crossover with the 1988 Topps series Dinosaurs Attack; creator autographs, hand-drawn original art cards, collectible parallel sets, and so much more! Filled with over-the-top action, twisted dark humor, and classic pulp-inspired art, Uprising will delight long-time fans and newcomers alike.

From complete sets to a la carte options, master bundles and hot packs, Kickstarter is offering collectors the chance to get what they want, how they want it. Specialty reward levels will allow fans the rare opportunity to be painted into the series itself; to receive unique one-of-a-kind rewards, and even original cut signatures from creators of the original series, including visionary artists Wally Wood and Bob Powell!

Phelps Garage Truck [56 Chevy Task Force] Returns In Halloween Kills [Interview]

halloween kills interview

With all the latest additions to the cast of Halloween Kills BlumHouse is sparing no expense in tracking down anyone and anything that appeared in the original Halloween film. But today they took the internet by storm when they announced that the 56 Chevy Task Force, which played the role of Phelps Garage Truck, would make its return to the franchise.

Moments after the news broke we were able to sit down with the Chevy Task Force and dig deep into what it felt like finally getting the call to come back to the series after all these years.

TDE: Before we begin the interview how would you like to be addressed?

Chevy: Mr. Task Force or Chevy is fine (laughs).

TDE: Cool. First and foremost, what is like to get that call asking you to return to the franchise after all these years?

Chevy: Honestly, it is a surreal feeling. I haven't had the chance to act since an episode of Quantum Leap titled 'The Color of Truth'. When Sam (Scott Bakula) is driving the old lady through town I can be seen parked in front of the general store on main street.

TDE: Really, what was it like working on such an iconic show?

Chevy: Hell, where to begin. Scott was a pleasure to work with but Dean Stockwell was a pretty wild guy during that time. Once after filming I woke up parked outside a strip club with cocaine residue all over my mirrors in a town that was six hours away from where we were filming. And it turns out we were reported missing because a whole week had passed. But those were the times.

TDE: Wow! Those sound like crazy times. What did you do between that last role and now?

Chevy: I followed my passion and became a DP. Shot a few seasons of Star Trek: TNG and worked on Are You Afraid of the Dark? up in Canada for the final season. After that I decided to write a book titled " 55-59 Chevy Truck Shop Manual".

TDE: And now after all that you return to where it all began. Are you excited to step back into the role that started it all?

Chevy: Absolutely! I feel as though I haven't lost a step and can really give my character a fitting closure to his arch. My only regret is that I will not have the chance to share the screen with Mr. Pleasence.

TDE: Yes, it is a shame that Donald isn't here to reprise his role of Dr. Loomis. Before we end this interview is there anything you want to say about Halloween Kills?

Chevy:  Just like to take this time to thank Jason [Blum] and John [Carpenter] for putting me in the first Halloween and finally bringing me back so I can give my character the sendoff that he deserves.

TDE: Thanks Chevy and we look forward to seeing you in the Halloween Kills.

Set for release by Universal Pictures on October 16th, 2020, Halloween Kills is produced by Trancas International Films, Miramax and Blumhouse Productions, with director Green directing from a script he co-wrote with returning collaborator Danny McBride and series newcomer Scott Teems.

Based on characters created by series originator John Carpenter and Debra Hill, Halloween Kills and its 2021 follow-up Halloween Ends will be produced by Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. Green, McBride, John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson and Ryan Freimann will serve as executive producers, with Ryan Turek overseeing both projects for Blumhouse.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 [Trailer]

mrs maisel season 3

It's the late 1950s and Miriam "Midge" Maisel has everything she has ever wanted -- the perfect husband, two kids and an elegant apartment on New York's Upper West Side. Her seemingly idyllic life takes a surprising turn when she discovers a hidden talent she didn't previously know she had -- stand-up comedy. This revelation changes her life forever as she begins a journey that takes her from her comfortable life on the Upper West Side through the cafes and nightclubs of Greenwich Village as she makes her way through the city's comedy industry on a path that could ultimately lead her to a spot on the "Tonight Show" couch.

Season 3 will feature eight episodes. That's the same number of episodes as the show's debut season, but unfortunately just two shy of Season 2's 10. That means there may be fewer quippy lines to savor like your favorite Carnegie Deli sandwich, but it's all in Sherman-Palladino's hands, as she said with the "flexibility" that Amazon's given the series, they're not trying to rush their ideas and hope "everything good gets on screen."

At the end of Season 2, Midge was presented with the potentially life-changing opportunity to join a musician on tour as the opening comedic act, a gig she felt compelled to take. This sets up Season 3 to follow her on this new adventure, it's the first time she's setting out as a road comic, it's the first time she's getting paid for this, it's the first time she’s going to have consistency, and she's dealing with audiences that aren't her people.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 premieres December 6, 2019.

Third Times A Charm... Another Black Christmas Remake [Trailer]

From the studio (Universal) and Producer (Jason Blum) who canceled The Hunt comes a remake of the 2006 film which was a remake of the 1974 film that has a cult following but didn't generate much at the box office; Black Christmas.

Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone (Imogen Poots, Green Room) and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters—athlete Marty (Lily Donoghue, The CW’s Jane the Virgin), rebel Kris (Aleyse Shannon, The CW’s Charmed), and foodie Jesse (Brittany O’Grady, Fox’s Star)—prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one.

As the body count rises, Riley and her squad start to question whether they can trust any man, including Marty’s beta-male boyfriend, Nate (Simon Mead, Same But Different: A True New Zealand Love Story), Riley’s new crush Landon (Caleb Eberhardt, Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle) or even esteemed classics instructor Professor Gelson (Cary Elwes).

Hopefully you read the synopsis and didn't watch the trailer yet because it gives away the entire film which is either a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. You should probably just watch the trailer and save yourself the few bucks and the wasted time of seeing this in the theater.

Black Christmas looks terrible and will hit on December Friday the 13th.

I do however look forward to the sequels Black Christmas Kills and then Black Christmas Ends.

McBride Hits Another Home Run with The Righteous Gemstones

The Righteous Gemstones

Well into the second generation of a grand televangelist tradition, the world-famous Gemstone family is living proof that worship pays dividends in all sizes. Patriarch Eli, the man most responsible for the tremendous success of the family's megachurch, is in mourning over the loss of his wife. Jesse, the eldest of the three grown Gemstone siblings, looks to lead in his father's footsteps, but finds his past sins jeopardizing the family ministry. Next in line comes middle sister Judy, who secretly lives with her fiancé and dreams of escaping the Gemstone compound. Rounding out the dysfunctional trio is pseudo-hipster Kelvin, the youngest of the preachers and a thorn in Jesse's side. As the family battles numerous threats to their renowned religious empire, they continue to spread the good word... and make a solid buck doing so.

What if Danny McBride redid East Bound and Down—but this time with Kenny Powers as a pastor? Created by McBride, the series initially seems content to coast on the humor of that premise. But it gradually cracks the cynicism with which it frames its characters and their work, offering poignant glimpses into their inner lives. The Righteous Gemstones is a hilariously compelling and somewhat humanizing study of a preaching family, their faith and the world they strive to proselytize.

McBride has a flair for comic set pieces: the series opens with a very funny scene at a mass baptism in what turns out to be a Chinese wave pool–complete with sirens, flashing lights and a pop soundtrack. McBride's Jesse Gemstone, whose seems to have stepped straight out of the Tammy Faye Bakker era, is a perfect characterization of that time period and nails his character to a tee.

The Righteous Gemstones premiere episode's hour-long length gives it time for proper world-building, teasing out future characters. Both Walton Goggins and Dermot Mulroney appear to be serious scene-chewers for the full season, which IMDb suggests will be an 8 episode run.

The Righteous Gemstones can be seen every Sunday at 10pm on HBO.

3 From Hell Looks Stunning In First Full Trailer

 otis baby 3 from hell

After sharing the 3 From Hell teaser trailer last month, Rob Zombie has now revealed the full trailer for 3 From Hell. The main focus of this entry looks to be the characters’ escape from prison and the subsequent chaos that ensues.

3 From Hell is a follow-up to Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. It reunites some of Zombie’s recurring stars, such as Sheri Moon Zombie, Sid Haig, and Bill Moseley. The latter film saw the apparent demise of Captain Spaulding (Haig), Otis Driftwood (Moseley), and Baby (Zombie), as they are roadblocked by authorities who shoot them multiple times.

Lionsgate and Saban Films will release 3 From Hell in 900 select movie theaters on September 16, 17 and 18, 2019 through Fathom Events.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Mid-Credits Scene [Video]

mysterio

Far From Home's ending sees Peter swinging through Manhattan on his way to meet MJ. We then cut to the credits before the mid-credits scene kicks in.

Peter and MJ land in the middle of the city, and suddenly we hear a radio broadcast... no, we realize, it's actually a video broadcast as J.K. Simmons appears on a giant screen mounted on a building. Yep, the actor who played J. Jonah Jameson in the first three Spider-Man movies is back as the character again, and he reveals in this broadcast altered footage of Spider-Man's final battle with Mysterio which indicates that Spidey was the cause of the attack.

And not just that, but footage of Mysterio sees the villain exposing Peter Parker's true identity to the world... right before the movie cuts to the rest of the credits!

Spider-Man: Far From Home Post-Credit Scene [Video]

Picking up shortly after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the world is grieving the loss of Tony Stark. Peter, on his way to a summer vacation in Europe, is tracked down by Nick Fury and recruited to take down monsters that will destroy the Earth. Making friends with Quentin Beck (Mysterio), they work together to stop this looming threat.

In the post-credit scene, we learn that Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) were not actually Nick Fury and Maria Hill. Instead, they were the shapeshifter Talos (Ben Mendolsohn) and his wife, fellow Skrull shapeshifter Soren in disguise. After reverting to their normal green alien form, Talos makes a call to Fury to fill him in on how everything ended up going with Mysterio. Fury, it turns out, was actually out on a spaceship somewhere with a bunch of Skrulls, doing who-knows-what.

Not sure what this scene means yet, but it’s probably safe to guess it has something to do with Captain Marvel 2, since the first movie is the one that introduced the Skrulls to the MCU.

Spider-Man: Far From Home SPOILERS Breakdown

spiderman spoilers leaked

Theories have been running rampant about what will happen in Spider-Man: Far From Home and how it will kick off the next phase of the MCU, but now the theories have been put to bed to make room for truths.

With the aid of trusted info I'll sift through the dirt and try to build a picture about the basic flow of the upcoming movie and what the future MCU might entail.

FINAL WARNING...... SPOILERS ARE AHEAD....

.
.
.
.

Mysterio is NOT from another universe. Mysterio is who he always was and will be; a liar with a bag of tricks. He once worked for Stark, didn't care much for Tony and now wants to be the new Iron Man savior character. The multiverse may be real but this guy ain't from anyplace but this one.

There is NO post credits scene where Spider-Man (Holland) meets Spider-Man (Maguire) and Spider-Man (Garfield).

Nick Fury and Maria Hill are both Skrulls who are filling in for the real characters. Talos is the one who is posing as Fury.

Mysterio use Chitauri tech in his suit and to create the elemental monsters.

There is NO scene that sees Peter use Mysterio's tech against him by creating a Iron Man and Captain America.

The SNAP and time jump is addressed. The flight to Europe is one of the first since the return and one of the kids Peter went to school with is now an adult who is a model.

Vulture has a small role in the movie.

Chameleon does factor into the movie as an accomplice to Mysterio.

Aunt May and Happy are starting a relationship as do M.J. and Peter.

Post credits we do see the return of J. Jonah Jameson and it is J.K. Simmons back in the role.  He is running a story about Spider-Man being responsible for the attacks abroad.

DC Ends The VERTIGO Imprint

vertigo dc comics

After 26 years and several reshuffles and reboots DC Entertainment has announced that its adult-focused imprint Vertigo has been shuttered as part of a rebranding and restructuring of its imprint divisions.

DC Entertainment has confirmed that as of January 2020, Vertigo will wrap up operations, as will the DC Zoom and DC Ink YA brands. Replacing Vertigo, Zoom, and Ink will be three new age-banded labels for all of DC Comics’ content: DC Kids, for readers aged 8-12; DC, for readers 13 and above; and finally DC Black Label, for readers 17 and above.

In a statement acknowledging the closure, DC Editor in Chief Dan DiDio stated that while Vertigo as an institute would be no more, the spirit the imprint had championed in its books since the very beginning would remain in books launched elsewhere at DC:

We’re returning to a singular presentation of the DC brand that was present throughout most of our history until 1993 when we launched Vertigo to provide an outlet for edgier material. That kind of material is now mainstream across all genres, so we thought it was the right time to bring greater clarity to the DC brand and reinforce our commitment to storytelling for all of our fans in every age group. This new system will replace the age ratings we currently use on our material.

Vertigo was launched in 1993 by Karen Berger, who helmed it as Executive Editor and Senior Vice President for the next two decades, before stepping down in March of 2013 to be replaced by longtime editor Shelly Bond, who herself was restructured out of DC in 2016. It was established as a way for DC Comics creatives to tell stories unrestrained by the Comics Code Authority.
