Executive produced by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell and showrunner Craig DiGregorio, Ash vs. Evil Dead is the long-awaited followup to the classic horror film franchise The Evil Dead. The series continues the adventures of Ash Williams, an aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster-hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. But when a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons -- both personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its "Evil" grip.
Campbell will once again be playing everyone’s favorite dim-witted warrior when Starz resurrects the Evil Dead franchise this fall with 10 episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead. As you can tell from the image above, Ash (who is still a stock boy) is once again ready to face his demons, and this time he’s got two folks to help him get the job done in fellow Value Stop employees Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo), seen above.
I pulled the above paragraph from EW because one thing stood out, Value Stop. What is that and what happened to S-Mart? It's a trivial thing I know, but you can't just drop S-Mart and not tell me why. I guess they could have been bought out by Value Stop and renamed but that does actually screw with Ash's back story and catchphrase. ''Shop smart, shop S-Mart'' is a good line from Army of Darkness and I would hate to see that go unused in the series. I guess will have to wait and see.
