Michael Keaton misted up while accepting his Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Film, Musical or Comedy, for his role as a washed-up actor struggling to make it on Broadway in Birdman. He thanked Birdman director Alejandro Inarritu profusely, saying the director could get any actor he wanted for his next project. Emphasizing his upbringing in Pennsylvania as one of seven children, he noted how his family-centered childhood made him who he is today, and described his son, Sean, as his closest friend.
