Star Wars: The Force Awakens Major Plot Details Leaked

Star Wars Force Awakens

Beware, the following may contain spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Read at your own risk

In-depth plot and character details for Star Wars: The Force Awakens have been leaked and posted online. A user calling himself 'Spoiler Man', who claims to work for Lucasfilm, has been posting the spoilers to web forum 4Chan for the past few days - despite claiming security has been dramatically stepped up in the teams surrounding the film's production.

Spoiler Man's last post, made last night said it was probably the last chance he'd have to post details, as Lucasfilm has gone into "full damage control. They practically interrogated a couple of us regarding possible leaks" he said.

The first post, which appeared on Sunday, November 30th, gave details of a film that was "dystopian" and much darker than even The Empire Strikes Back - and is on a par, quality-wise, with A New Hope.

The setting

According to his posts, the film is set 30-40 years after the Battle of Endor, seen in Return of the Jedi. The Empire and New Republic are locked in a war of attrition, compared to the European theatre of the Second World War.

A desert planet - presumably Tatooine - appears in the film, as does Yavin, the planet that held the rebel base in A New Hope.

Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker has become a recluse, lives in exile and has trained seven Jedi. He has been described as being a Yoda-like figure in the film.

He first appears in the film's second act. With the galaxy in chaos, he had to ensure his safety so a new generation of Jedi could be trained - or at least, that's what he says.

Elsewhere, the force has begun to emerge in more and more people - including the led characters played by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.

Deak (Black Stormtrooper)

Star Wars Deak is a defecting stormtrooper. Boyega's character is a force-sensitive stormtrooper, under the command of Gwendoline Christie, who plays an Inquisitor.

The Inquisitors are a group of lightsaber wielding stormtroopers who head up the remains of the Imperial forces. They're tasked with hunting down force sensitives.

Deak defects from the Empire over the course of the film, ending up stranded on a desert planet - presumably Tatooine. He's hunted as a deserter.

Kira and Max Von Sydow's character

Star Wars Episode VII Kira is a force-sensitive tomboy living on Tatooine

Kira (Daisy Ridley) is a young force-sensitive girl living on Tatooine with the character played by veteran actor Max Von Sydow.

It's later revealed she's the daughter of Han and Leia, and resents Luke's fleeing into exile before he could train her.

She shares a love of history with Sydow's character, who keeps artifacts from the previous chapters in the Star Wars saga around their home, a downed AT AT walker.

Sydow's character is thought to be someone we've seen before in a previous film - but is now mostly cyborg.

He's not Boba Fett, Darth Maul or Mace Windu - and apparently his identity "isn't earth-shattering" - but will have resonance with fans of the series.

Han Solo and Chewbacca

At the end of the first act, Deak meets with Kira and Sydow's character, and Han and Chewie take them off Tatooine in the Millennium Falcon.

Han takes a liking for Deak, and Chewie has a robotic arm.

Princess Leia

Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in the 1980s Leia is now leader of the New Republic. Leia has been the leader of the New Republic for 30 years and is married to Han Solo. They are constructing a new weapon on a 'Scandinavian-esque cold and forsaken forest world'.

The Sith (Guy in Forest)

He built that lightsaber himself, which is why it looks odd.  The Sith appear to have abandoned the "rule of two" - where there are always two Sith, a master and an apprentice.

Andy Serkis

Andy Serkis' character is a very old, very powerful alien Sith. He's thought to have trained or manipulated Emperor Palpatine at some point for his own purposes - though his goals differ from Palpatines.

In the new universe, the Sith are not necessarily aligned with the Empire.

It should be noted that 'Spoiler Man' correctly predicted the date of the next trailer release - now confirmed to be May 1st - and many of his claims tie in with a set of concept art sketches and paintings which leaked earlier last week.
