Recently Marvel's cinematic universe has been hit and miss for me. Iron Man 3 was a let down, Avengers: Age of Ultron was a clusterfuck and Thor has yet to find its legs, but Captain America has never disappointed. Yet when Civil War was announced, I had trepidation about what was to come. After AOU dropped the ball with a packed cast, I felt that a comic book movie couldn't work with so many characters fighting for screen time; man am I happy I was wrong.
This review is tough for me because, A) I don't want to drop any spoilers and B) There is far too much to cover and explain why it's so good without dropping spoilers. So you see, I find myself at an impasse and the only way out of it is to essentially tell you nothing but this.
Captain America: Civil War might not be a diehard adaptation of its comic book counterpart, but it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The Russo's have outdone themselves with not just a solid movie, but a movie that is the best yet to come out of the Disney/Marvel house. If this is what the Russo's have to offer, I can't wait to see them take on Infinity Wars.
