James Wan’s Conjuring 2 is officially underway and has started principal photography. Today the director took to social media to make the announcement. Also New Line Cinema posted a pic of the set while it was being blessed (insert joke here) on Twitter.
Unlike the recent misstep that was Annabelle, a movie that wasn't need nor wanted, The Conjuring 2 will continue the "based-on-truth" adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose cases have also inspired The Haunting in Connecticut. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are returning as the real-life paranormal investigators with Frances O’Connor set to play the part of a desperate mother whose daughter is experiencing a haunting.
The Conjuring 2 features a screenplay by Chad and Carey Hayes who penned the first film along with House of Wax and The Reaping. James Wan will return to direct.
The Conjuring 2 is set for release on June 10, 2016.
